About Melissa

Melissa was born on the 8th of November 1996. She was 6 pounds 4. She had beautiful blue eyes and fair hair. Melissa was beautiful inside and out. She was a very bubbly character who always had a smile on her face.

Melissa started St.Angelas primary school in 2001 with her twin sister Belinda. This is where she started her football career. She was fierce on the pitch. She played for Castlebar Town FC and Castlebar Mitchels. Mel was a big part of both clubs as she accompanied both teams together called Team Castlebar to America.

In 2009 she then enrolled to Davitt College where she excelled greatly. Melissa was a very determined teen who faced any challenges that would come her way. She met her boyfriend Gary in Davitt College. They were inseparable.

Mel had a very witty sense of humour. Her laugh would put a smile on everyone’s face. Melissa had many hobbies other than sport. She was very musical in her own way she played the accordion which she enjoyed doing in her spare time.

Melissa was very sociable and easy to talk to. She would be the first on the dance floor in the night clubs giving it her best. She loved to go out and have fun with her friends.

Melissa had a great connection with her family, Carmel her mother, Eamon her brother and both Samantha and Belinda her sisters. They had many of days of laughter with the radio blaring dancing around the kitchen like idiots, but that was Mel. She was the rock of the family.

Melissa tragically died on the 30th of July 2015. Melissa lived life to the fullest and took every day as it came. She was loved dearly and will be remembered forever.
